Video: Ban from Taj Mahal and Breakdown - one day in the life of the solartaxi

12 037 kilometres into the journey of the solartaxi and it’s been anything but boring. Challenges pop up on a daily basis. Watch to see why the solartaxi was not allowed to enter the site of the Taj Mahal and what one needs in case of a solar breakdown.

If you want to know more about the solartaxi and our travels, stay tuned. The next video will be up shortly!!!

Also, if you have any questions you want to ask - just do it at redaktion@clubofpioneers.com

I will post the answers on my blog as soon as I can.

Great movies, I would like to see more. India seems very crowded
and interesting. Good luck for your future travel to Indonesia?

Hello Eric, At first thank you for the video and the article. I
think you and your team do a great project and I have a lot of
respect for what you do. I wondered how the Indian feel about
it? Have Indians on the street ever seen a solar cell before? Are
they only interested in the car, because it looks different or
are they also interested in the solar cells? For example do they
want to know how they work? Do you explain them how they work and
why you travel with solar energy? All the best for you and your
team, Have a good journey, Peter

hey peter, the funny thing is that inindia, there is 150% tax on
every imported car, so that i guess 99,99% of the cars in india
are also made in india. that s why indians are very curious to
get a close look at the solar taxi as much as the support vehicle
(and also the mountain bike that is fixed at its back). but
undoubtly, the solartaxi is still the star of the
team. however, there is also a lot of interest on how it
works, how far you can travel etc. the awareness that there is re
alternatives to petrol, and why there are needed, is quite high.
pollution is a big problem in indian cities. fortunately, in some
of the bigger cities, the taxis (the normal ones) have switched
to natural gas. of course we explain a lot, we go to school,
universities, clubs etc. that is the purpose of the trip: to
inspire that solutions are there. all the best, e.
