Battery Electronic Vehicles – 0 Emissions - 100% Power!
Did you know that Battery electric vehicles were the first cars breaking the speed barrier over 100 km/h? Well that was in 1899. Now over a hundred years later the BEVs are ready to start off their trail of success. A Battery electric vehicle is a car, that uses electricity stored in its rechargeable battery pack to power an electric motor that turns its wheels. Because a BEV uses electricity as a fuel, there are no emissions out of its tailpipe, well actually it doesen´t even have a tailpipe!

You even can recharge them using renewable energy sources like wind, solar or hydropower. So they do not cause any air pollution at all. Just a couple month ago Toshiba presented a new battery that can be recharged to 90 percent capacity in under five minutes, lasts 10 years and should be used in electric cars by 2010.
